How to play ZomZam
One prompt. Two minutes. About 27 hidden answers. Find as many as you can — the rarer the answer, the more it scores.
1. The round
A new prompt goes live every day at 00:00 UTC. You have two minutes to type answers. Each correct answer is added to your board with its rarity weight. The clock only starts when you start typing; refreshing the page keeps your progress in this browser.
2. Scoring
Every hidden answer has a rarity weight from 1 to 5. Your score is the sum of the weights of the answers you find. Your tier is the rarest answer you found.
| Tier | Weight | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 1 point | The answers almost everyone types first. |
| Uncommon | 2 points | A little more thought than the obvious list. |
| Rare | 3 points | You are starting to dig. |
| Epic | 4 points | Most players miss these. |
| Legendary | 5 points | The deep cuts — the reason the game exists. |
Example: finding one Legendary (5), one Rare (3) and four Commons (4 × 1) gives 12 points and a Legendary tier, because tier is set by the rarest answer, not the total.
3. What counts as correct
Capitalisation, extra spaces, punctuation and accents are ignored. Leading articles (“the”, “a”, “an”) are ignored too, and simple plurals are accepted in both directions. Answers that need a different word do not count. Duplicates never score twice.
4. Hints and answers
Every round has seven hints: first letters, word lengths and category clues. Hints do not cost points. After the round, the full board is available on the answers page, and every past board stays in the 90-day archive.
5. Unlimited practice
Unlimited practice draws a random prompt from the same answer bank with no clock. It does not affect the daily board.
