Frequently asked questions
Everything about the daily round, scoring and the archive. Still stuck? Email hello@zomzam.com.
What is ZomZam?
ZomZam is a free daily answer game. Each round gives you one prompt and two minutes to name as many answers as you can. Rarer answers are worth more points, and your rarest find sets your tier for the day.
Is ZomZam free?
Yes. The daily round, unlimited practice, hints and the 90-day answers archive are all free and require no signup or account.
How often does the daily round change?
A new round goes live at 00:00 UTC every day. You can still play or read the answers for any of the previous 90 days in the archive.
How is scoring calculated?
Every hidden answer has a rarity weight from 1 (common) to 5 (legendary). Your score is the sum of the weights of the answers you find. The highest weight you find is your rarity tier: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary.
Are spelling mistakes counted?
Simple differences are forgiven: capitalisation, extra spaces, punctuation, accents, leading articles and simple plurals. Answers that need a different word are not counted.
Can I play past rounds?
Yes. The last 90 daily rounds stay available in the archive with their answers grouped by rarity. Unlimited practice draws from the same 120-puzzle bank.
Do I need an account or app?
No. ZomZam runs in the browser on desktop and mobile. There is no login, and your in-progress round is stored locally in your browser.
Is this an official version of another game?
No. ZomZam is an independent game with its own prompts, answers and scoring. Some daily games share the general idea of naming answers, but ZomZam is not affiliated with or endorsed by any other game or publisher.
More detail lives in the full rules and the comparison guide to similar daily games.
